Poverty - A Curse

Poverty means not possessing the ability to acquire the “Unimum basic need for a decent human existence like food, ning, shelter, education and health care. Those who are this t0 these needs are below the poverty line. Though acute problem is being faced by several parts of the world but India still has the world’s largest number of poor people in a single country. Out of 1 billion inhabitants, an estimated 350-400 million are unluckily below the poverty line.

There are three main causes of poverty in our country- deficiency in economic growth, lack of education and skills, and overpopulation. Our economy has no doubt grown and there has been development but it has failed to provide sufficient number of jobs, productivity and just wages, our population is increasing day by day and this is the root cause of all problems.

 गरीबी किसी भी व्यक्ति या इंसान के लिये अत्यधिक निर्धन होने की स्थिति है। ये एक ऐसी स्थिति है जब एक व्यक्ति को अपने जीवन में छत, जरुरी भोजन, कपड़े, दवाईयाँ आदि जैसी जीवन को जारी रखने के लिये महत्वपूर्ण चीजों की भी कमी लगने लगती है। निर्धनता के कारण हैं अत्यधिक जनसंख्या, जानलेवा और संक्रामक बीमारियाँ, प्राकृतिक आपदा, कम कृषि पैदावर, बेरोज़गारी, जातिवाद, अशिक्षा, लैंगिक असमानता, पर्यावरणीय समस्याएँ, देश में अर्थव्यवस्था की बदलती प्रवृति, अस्पृश्यता, लोगों का अपने अधिकारों तक कम या सीमित पहुँच, राजनीतिक हिंसा, प्रायोजित अपराध, भ्रष्टाचार, प्रोत्साहन की कमी, अकर्मण्यता, प्राचीन सामाजिक मान्यताएँ आदि जैसी समस्याओं का सामना करना पड़ता है।

गरीबी एक ऐसी समस्या है, जो हमारे पूरे जीवन को प्रभावित करने का कार्य करती है।गरीबी एक ऐसी बीमारी है जो इंसान को हर तरीके से परेशान करती है।इसके कारण एक व्यक्ति का अच्छा जीवन, शारिरीक स्वास्थ्य, शिक्षा स्तर आदि जैसी सारी चीजें खराब हो जाती है। यही कारण है कि आज के समय में गरीबी को एक भयावह समस्या माना जाता है।
